Marc Scott - Original Everyday VOpreneur®

The Original VOpreneur

It started when I was a kid. Selling baseball and hockey cards. Running a bicycle repair business (with no customers). Mowing lawns. Painting fences. Delivering newspapers. If I could find a way to earn some cash, I'd work. There was Dr Pepper and pizza to be purchased. Video game systems to be rented!

The entrepreneurial spirit has been strong with me my whole life... I see now in hindsight.

The other thing I knew from a very young age was I wanted to be Casey Kasem. As near as I could tell, the guy worked about four hours a week. There was 30 minutes for Scooby Doo episodes, and a few hours for the Weekly Top 40 countdown. To me, it was the perfect gig and I wanted it. Work less... earn more!

The Only Idiot I Answer To Is Me

My radio career started in 1995 and ended in 2011. After leaving the last station I would ever work for, I sat in my car in the parking lot, tears streaming down my cheeks, and in a moment of defiance (and unchecked fear), I proclaimed, "from now on, the only idiot I answer to is me." This may or may not have been a statement about my former boss. I'll never confess.

I had two choices in that moment, and one of them was not going back to radio. So... would I seek employment as a Drive Thru operator at McDonlads? Or, would I turn my voice over side hustle into a legitimate full-time business?

Though unnamed at the time, that was the birth of VOpreneur. The moment I decided to go into business for myself. And be the only idiot I answered to.

The only thing standing between me and riches, fame and glory in voice over, as near as I could tell, were clients. I really didn't have many. I also had no money, which was problematic... but not insurmountable.

Committed (and somewhat desperate), I started contacting voice over leads. The initial results were... I was still broke. And slightly more desperate.

That's when I decided I probably needed to learn how to actual do voice over marketing in a way that worked.

What I offer to voice actors today, is the opportunity to skip the learning curve of doing absolutely everything wrong, making a fool of yourself, and spending countless hours (and dollars) on college courses, reading books, listening to podcasts, watching videos and becoming a full-blown student of marketing.

You're a VOpreneur

As a voice actor today, whether you currently realize it or not, you're a business owner. The CEO of your company. If you want to build a successful business, you can't just think like an actor anymore. You have to think like a VOpreneur.

Voice Actor + Entrepreneur = VOpreneur®.

What I bring to the table now is all the years of time and dollars I invested into learning marketing. I offer it to you in a condensed format, with less humiliation than I endured.

In other words, take one of my classes, or book some private coaching time with me. We can solve your problems in a couple hours instead of the five or so years it took me to figure things out in the beginning!

Trust me... it s a much better option! ;)
